Celebrating 50 Years of Quality Early Childhood Education
Our Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten Programs ages 2.9-6 years of age
Preschool children are full of enthusiasm for life and a desire for learning! We provide a warm environment where children can develop self-esteem and social skills. Our Educators set the stage for children’s success by providing developmentally appropriate and engaging activities throughout the learning environment. With distinct learning centers such as dramatic play, blocks, science, math, and manipulatives, children are able to explore a vast array of materials that assist and enhance learning and development. We provide a highly stimulating learning environment. Our Educators implement a curriculum inundated with activities for writing and reading readiness, fostering independence and a sense of community in the children we serve. Our program offers four to five-year-olds the opportunity to prepare and develop the skills needed to succeed in Kindergarten.
At Chicopee Child Development we nurture the social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive growth and development of all children.
Chicopee Child Development Center is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children!
We are participants in the USDA Federal Food Program providing all meals in accordance with the USDA nutritional guidelines.
We are a non-profit that offers tuition on a sliding fee scale according to household income, we also accept Seven Hills Childcare vouchers.
Experienced & Dedicated Staff
All of our staff are well educated in child development in addition to being CPR & First Aid certified.
We utilize the Creative Curriculum©, a nationally recognized curriculum, which you will see evident in all of our learning centers. We at CCDC believe that play is children’s work, so we emphasize learning through play. Our classrooms are designed to be age and developmentally appropriate with clearly defined learning centers featuring blocks, manipulatives, art, math, science, and dramatic play. Activity choices are set for children to choose, fostering a sense of independence by finding, using and putting away toys themselves.
We use Teaching Strategies Gold©, an on-going observational assessment tool that helps our Educators teach with intention by focusing on the individual child’s development and learning. We also utilize Second Step, a curriculum that teaches children self-regulation and social emotional competence.
